At Clinic Copenhagen in Amager, we work with fillers every day — and we receive many questions from clients who are curious but also a little uncertain. What is it exactly? Is it safe? And what does it look like? Here we give you a thorough introduction so you can feel confident and informed.

What is hyaluronic acid?
Fillers are a gel, most often made from hyaluronic acid, used to add volume, shape and enhance your natural features. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body and helps keep the skin hydrated and firm. When we use it as filler, we are adding a substance the body already recognizes — and it creates a natural and fresh look when done correctly.
Which areas can be treated?
Filler can be used in many different areas of the face. The most popular treatments with us are fuller lips (including our CC Lips technique), cheekbone definition, smoothing of fine lines and more contour in the jawline. We also offer facial balancing, where we work with multiple areas to create harmony across the entire face.
How long does filler last?
The result is not permanent and typically lasts 6–12 months, depending on the area, the product and your body's metabolism. Lips are typically broken down faster than, for example, cheekbones, because the lips move more throughout the day.
What happens during the treatment?
First, we hold a thorough consultation where we review your wishes and recommend a plan. We apply numbing cream and let it take effect for approximately 20 minutes. The injection itself takes 20–30 minutes. The result is visible immediately.
